About

About This Site

Starting with the lockdown in 2020, I decided it was time to pursue the Systems Thinking certificate course at Cornell University. It had been on my bucket list for a while, though I wish I had taken it sooner. I fell into a Systems Thinking rabbithole of my own, and I never left.

A year after that, I pursued the Advanced Practitioner Certification (STML500) available through the Cabrera Research Lab. I am now taking the Master Practitioner Certification (STML900) aka Brown Belt.

This website is my project for this final certification. My vision is that you, too, will have the six Mental Moves and DSRP-483 in your pocket as you deal with your own 'wicked problems' in life. Systems thinking has made me a better human being, and I wish the same for you!

Acknowledgments

First, I want to thank my Systems Thinking mentors, Drs. Derek and Laura Cabrera. Without their patience and guidance, you wouldn't be looking at this website. They've guided me over literal and figurative mountains.

Second, I want to thank my STML900 (Brown Belt) cohorts for their feedback and support.

Many thanks to my colleagues and friends who've listened to me go on about Systems Thinking and DSRP, especially if they let me "fish tank" them.

Last but not least, I would like to thank my son, my favorite systems thinker. He keeps me on my DSRP-483 toes. :)

About Me

By day, I worked in data operations in the complex world of insurance. I've worked in health insurance for over two decades. In case anyone is seeking a 'wicked problem' to solve, there's an abundance in this industry.  :)

By night, I'm pursing a Master's of Science degree in analytics.

You can learn more about my professional background on LinkedIn.

Aside from that, I'm a mom to a teenaged systems thinker (yes, you can teach this to your kids, too!).
